Can the customer check the goods at the delivery?

The customer is required to verify the accuracy of the number of packages delivered, and to verify the external integrity of the goods, but is not allowed to open the packages or pallets and check the content. In case of external defects of the packages (VISIBLE damage) the customer may indicate an acceptance with reserve on the transport document, specifying the type of damage found, otherwise it is required to sign and stamp the transport document without any note. The driver is not authorized to attend the opening of the packages by the recipient, because possible anomalies compared to the information on the transport document (anomalies in the quality and quantity of the goods contained within) are to be attributed to the sender. How are pallets managed?

According to the art. 7 of the Federcorrieri General Conditions, the loading tools (pallets and other) used by the sender are identified in all respects an inherent part of the goods packaging and thus they are an exclusive relevance of the recipient. The relative tare is included for the purpose of determining the taxable weight of the shipment. Only in case of an explicit agreement with the purchaser of the transport the carrier must fulfill the failure to return. The agreement can only be provided for EPAL pallets, there must be provided an exemption for return and must be provided an indemnity for the transport necessary for the return.

What is specified scale?

It is a method for rounding the rates in which the approximation is specified; as 50 kg in 50 kg, or 10 kg in 10 kg. Others methods recall directly the annual editions of the rates and conditions of transport deposited at the Chambers of Commerce (CCIAA).

What is scale 73?

This is the case of rounding the rates with the scale of 1973 (scalare 73): rounding up is done to the nearest 10 kg

What is scale 74?

This is the case of rounding up the rates with the scale of 1974 (scalare 74). Article 15 of the "Conditions that collect the uses normally practiced in Italy by shippers of Italian transport carriers" reads as: "For shipments weighing less than 500 kg, the rates must be calculate with the scale table attached. For shipment weighing more than 500 Kg round up to the nearest quintal. ". Basically, up to 500 Kg round up to 50 Kg, while over 500 Kg round up to 100 Kg.

What is scale 77?

This is the case of rounding the rates with the scale of 1977 (Scalare 77): rounding up is done to the nearest 100 kg.
