Helvia Recina or Ricina, is an ancient Roman city, today an archaeological site of the Potenza river valley, in the Marche region.

The Gothic invasion, around the 6th century, pushed most of the Ricinesi to relocate on the hills. Then the medieval center of Macerata was born, of which Helvia Recina is the Latin term. Most of the area of the ancient colony of Helvia Recina still have to be discovered. From the ashes of this precious town of our territory, we have choosen our name, which we carry with pride, as an expression of the strong territorial vocation.
